For Authors
Call for applications: we are building the team for the first issue.
Sava Medical Journal is looking for students of “Saint Sava” National College who want to write, fact-check, translate, design or promote a real medical journal. You do not need previous experience — you need curiosity, commitment and respect for sources.
Why join
- learn to work as you would in a professional newsroom, with deadlines, reviews and editorial responsibility;
- build a bilingual portfolio that helps with university applications in Romania and abroad;
- work alongside mentors — medical students and resident doctors who are alumni of the College;
- see your name as an author or editor in an open-access publication.
Open positions
- Editor-in-Chief and deputy editors (RO and EN);
- Writing & fact-checking — research, writing, verification of medical sources;
- Translation & proofreading — language quality in Romanian and English;
- IT & design — running the website and the visual identity;
- PR & fundraising — social media and partnerships.
How to apply
Email redactie@savamedicaljournal.org with the subject Application — [department] and include:
- your name and class;
- the department or position you are interested in (you may choose two);
- a few lines about your motivation;
- optionally, a short piece you have written on any scientific topic.
Guidelines for articles
- Sources. Use specialist sources — peer-reviewed papers, guidelines from medical organizations, university textbooks — and cite them at the end of the text.
- Tone. Write clearly and accessibly without simplifying to the point of inaccuracy. Explain technical terms the first time they appear.
- No individual advice. Articles explain and inform; they do not recommend treatments or make diagnoses.
- Originality. The text must be your own. Quotations are marked, and images are used only with permission and with their source credited.
- Interviews. The final text is sent to the interviewee for review before publication.
